Area 22 Calendar February 2025
After the full-on activities of the Christmas and New Year period, February is generally quiet and so it is with Area 22. We begin with the February meeting on Thursday 6 February which is at the Frogmill and as you know is also the AGM. Here we will review the past year, look forward to 2025 and steady the ship with confirmation of the “management team”.
The team is bedding in; we have planning meetings in the last week of each month, Nicky produces the Minutes with detailed actions to keep us on track. We are pushing ahead establishing an Area bank account, we are the chosen Area to trial the new Club Express App with Chat facilities and to use the AMOC shared drive for document storage. We shall be visiting The Barn in the next few days for discussions with HQ staff and representatives of the IT Committee.
The March meeting will be held at the Horse and Groom, Charlton, SN16 9DL. This is a new venue for us. The “team” has been to do a recce, and we hope you will enjoy spending time there. Wednesday 19 March brings the oversubscribed visit to Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell which Ray has in hand.
The April meeting will be at the Frogmill where Andrea will be giving us an update on CALM and the great progress Rory is making towards mobility. Sunday 27 April brings us to Drive-It Day, the national fundraiser in support of Childline. I shall be organising this and will be in touch shortly. The Black Mountain beckons!
Great events follow in the early summer, Nick Mason’s cars, the “return again” to Phil’s orchard and the 90th Anniversary Celebration now to be held at Berkeley Castle on Thursday 10 July.
I would highlight a non-Area 22 event, although I am involved, but one in which you may be interested. It is the Kitebrook Automotive Garden Party on Saturday 14 June from 1100 to 1600. This is an invitation only event being run in support of The Big Space Cancer Appeal; building new cancer facilities at Cheltenham Hospital. Kitebrook Prep School is a prestigious location between Moreton in Marsh and Chipping Norton. It will attract the finest 85 vehicles in the Cotswolds, including a Valkyrie I understand. Area 22 and friends have been given the opportunity to bring their Astons to join them. The cost will be £25 a head arriving in exhibited vehicles. Tickets include brunch and afternoon tea. If this sounds good to you then please contact me during February at area22@amoc.org
We are constantly updating the website so please look at it for the latest information. The team hopes to see you at as many meetings and events as you can make.
