February Monthly Meeting and AGM
Thursday 7 February
The meeting was held at the Frogmill, Shipton Oliffe. Twenty Two members and friends sat down to dinner, and we were delighted to welcome two guests, Val Kudrya and Marcus Moore from HR Owen. Marcus gave us a brief talk on the plans which HR Owen has for its business in Cheltenham. Specialist Cars will relocate to a new facility not far from its existing premises. Aston Martin new car guarantee and service plans will be focused on AM Reading (Pangbourne), cars being collected and transported as part of the service. All other work on “older” cars will be carried out by AM mechanics based in the new Cheltenham facilities. To quote Marcus “it will be business as usual”.
The AGM presentation looked back at 2024, reviewed the current status of Area 22 and then looked to the future meetings and events. Nicky, in her position as Asst Rep Admin and Finance, gave an overview of the financial situation and then the members voted unanimously to confirm the appointment for a period of 12 months of the interim team which has been in place since November. Finally, there was a presentation on behalf of the members to Chis Bates to say “thank you” for serving as Assistant Rep for three years. The sentiment was extended to Susan for supporting Chris at the many meetings and events.
Finally, I should personally like to thank Chris for his loyal service over the years. If Chris said he was going to do something, he did, and we all enjoyed the results. Now enjoy the meetings yourself Chris from the back benches, but who will lead the Blue Team?
