Almost time to get the car out from the winter hibernation. But will it start, are the brake callipers moving as they should, have the tyres got flats on them? All will be revealed shortly! Here is the Area 22 March calendar full of “goodies” to partake in if you are so minded.
We have a bumper 28 people attending the March meeting at our new venue, the Horse & Groom at Charlton. I mentioned last month that Area 22 Reps have been trialling the new Club Express App for some time. I will give you an update at the meeting. The March event, the visit to Aston Martin Works on the 19th., is significantly oversubscribed. Those going will have received notification and instructions from Ray.
This brings us to April and the start of Spring! During the meeting at the Frogmill, Andrea will be talking to us about our chosen charity, CALM, and reporting on the progress of Rory and the other children who we will meet again at the end of the Summer Drive in Northleach on 20th. August. The April event is our Drive-It Day into Wales, a national event supporting Childline. Details are on the website and we look forward to a sunny day “cruising” over the Welsh Mountains. We have 12 cars booked already, please come and support this event; it is all in a good cause. Let me know at area22@amoc.org if you want to take part.
Saturday 3 May we are having a brunch at the Ragged Cot. For those who cannot generally make weekday evening meetings this will be a chance to come and meet fellow members. We have had several “brunches” at this venue, and they are always good value. On 17 May we visit Neil and Nikki at Cotswold Prestige Cars to check out what he has in his garage.
Looking further ahead to June it is Middlewick House Open Day with Area 13 and later in the month to Phil and Helen’s Orchard to enjoy a quintessential English champagne picnic. I would mention our event at Berkeley Castle on 10 July to celebrate the 90th. Anniversary of the founding of AMOC.
Information on all meetings and events is available on the Area 22 website and the published monthly calendar. Unfortunately, the booklet concerning the 90th. Anniversary Celebration contains some incomplete and out of date information.
The team hopes to see you at as many meetings and events as you can make.
Andrew
