Happy New Year
Area 22 Calendar January 2026
Well, here we go into 2026. A year of change for Area 22 but one to which I look forward. As you know, the new management team will be adopted at the AGM on Thursday 5 February and I would encourage as many members as possible to attend the meeting. Nominations close in four days and whilst we are in a fairly strong position it would be useful if someone would throw their hat in the ring to manage “events”.
The attached calendar shows where we are at the moment. Not much you might say, but there are plans afoot. Meetings will continue in the format of north and south, venues to be advised. Two events have been confirmed. Whiby Endeavour in May with a couple of places left and the Salop Gallop in October which has one space available. More details of the events are on the website, please contact me at area22@amoc.org if you are interested. In cooperation with the Stow Motor Club, we have invited the newly nominated driver of the Bloodhound land speed record attempt to speak to us. This will be in March with the date and venue to be confirmed. The calendar also lists other events happening in 2026 in which you may be interested.
Before I go, a mention of the Winter Gathering which was held on 11 December. This brought together thirty-two likeminded people intent on enjoying themselves. They did!
