Day 4: Thursday 12th June
Accommodation: The Fonab Castle Hotel & Spa
Dinner: At Leisure
We'll take a guided drive to Balmoral Castle, the Highland home of the Royal Family since 1852, where we’ll enjoy the unique privilege of entering through the main gate and up the private driveway to the castle itself, before parking on the adjacent cricket pitch. A standing BBQ lunch will be provided for us by Castle chefs. The afternoon and evening are at leisure, so we can take the opportunity to explore the gardens; admire the Castle; visit Crathie Kirk, the small Church of Scotland frequented by the Royal Family; or visit the Royal Lochnagar Distillery. We can also explore the small town of Pitlocry, where we can stroll along the cobbled lanes, find the famous “Salmon Ladder’, and visit a local distillery.
