Area 22 May Calendar
May brings us two great Area 22 events and hopefully, the sunshine. We start with a return to the Royal Oak at Leighterton for our monthly meeting on Thursday 2 May. New management, new menu, good beer… what a recipe for a good night out! Next comes the “May Meander” on Thursday 16 May. I called it a meander, but the Welsh roads offer good opportunities so this may be a misnomer. Starting at Highnam, driving over to Hay on Wye, south to Talybont-on-Usk, over the B4560 (challenging!) and down the Usk Valley to St. Arvans. 115 miles of good driving. If you are coming along, please let me know before 10 May at area22@amoc.org. You will not be disappointed!
Thursday 6 June brings the Area 22 AGM (not as boring as it sounds) at the Frogmill. This is followed by Astons in the Orchard – The Return on Sunday 23 June. This is a highlight of the year, and details are on the website. Let me know at area22@amoc.org if you are attending so that Phil can organise the parking arrangements. Bring your own Champagne picnic.
The July meeting is on Wednesday (not Thursday) 3 July and is a Pizza Evening at The Feathered Nest, Church Westcote, together with Area 10.
I am the focal point for this meeting, Chris is away.
Saturday 3 August brings the visit to Avro Vulcan XM655 at Wellesbourne and on Tuesday 20 August we have Drive for Rory. This little boy really needs our help so please try to get to this event. Details on the website shortly.

There are many other interesting events open to us in the next three months and I would highlight the Southrop Fete on 8 June with the opportunity to display your car and the Wheels at Prescott event on 25 July.
